Navigating this site

This site was not specifically addapted for mobile use. I therefor recomend viewing this on a laptop or computer, preferrably using a monitor that has more than 980 pixels in width.
If your monitor renders the text too small or large for your comfort, I suggest using CTRL+ScrollWheel to zoom in and out.

The Text and Media

This form of presenting a thesis affords to engage research materials in ways that are not usually available when submitting a thesis in paper format. Underlined text indicates that there is a link, either to a different page on this site, an external source, or a document. Resource materials might also be embedded, meaning that there is a piece of a different site, that I do not control, on this website for you to view and navigate to. This means that over time, some embedded parts of this website might seize to function properly. Despite this I chose to use this method because it affords reproduction without pulling a copy from it's original context. In other words embedding, in a way, affords for a lesser amount of decontextualization. More of my thoughts on decontextualization can be found in the ethics section.

The Film

The film can be viewed at any time when engaging with this piece. Suhr & Willerslev (2013, 99), state that The audio-visual modality is a way of engaging, that gauges a form of coherent context, that remains open and incomplete. I therefor suggest that you watch the film before you read the thesis, but this is merely a suggestion. More about this can be found in the methods section.
